Full, active, and conscious participation in the liturgy is a call to all of us from the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy. We are urged to engage in the liturgy through various means that speak to all people. The A/V ministry employs technology to encounter Mass in many ways.

Our A/V system provides the following:

  • Live streaming to engage people at home for any reason.
  • Visual participation by showing the reading of the Gospel and the consecration of the Eucharist for those attending Mass with physical limitations and ailments.
  • Song lyric projection for ease of reading and conservation of paper.
  • Comfort to those who are mourning by providing a way to remember loved ones during a funeral without burdening them with having to provide equipment to do so.
  • Witness to the sacraments such as baptism and confirmation in a manner that cannot be done just sitting in the congregation.
  • Environmental enhancements during Mass.

We are looking for people who like to dabble in various forms of visual media. Familiarity with remote controls, changing video inputs (like on a TV), and PowerPoint is helpful, but certainly not necessary. This is a great way to be involved with the Mass and indulge your inner tech “geek” at the same time. Training on our equipment will be provided.
