Volunteer Opportunities

“You shall love your neighbor as yourself” Mark 12:31

“Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of the least brothers of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:40

Each of us has been created uniquely in God’s image and, therefore, bring our own set of gifts to the work of building the kingdom. Some of us are gifted with musical abilities, others the ministry of catechesis, and others are called to share their gifts through service to those on the margins. Service opportunities help us to live out our faith in the world. How are you answering the call to continue to live out the mission and ministry of Jesus?

As you look at the many service activities listed, please consider how you called to share your gifts with others.

NOTE: Please remember to put your service dates on the family calendar as you sign-up people will be counting on you! If you need to reschedule your service or want to sign up for more events, please contact the youth minister.

Service Guidelines

All youth are encouraged to take part in two service experiences each year! A special emphasis is placed on service during the Confirmation year. Candidates are asked to participate in one liturgy opportunity, two community opportunities, and two parish service opportunities.

Service Reflections

Each time you participate in a service activity, you are asked to complete a short reflection (about one paragraph) online. This is how we will keep track of the great work you are doing! You can fill out this reflection form below.

Service Opportunities

Youth

Many opportunities to serve in the parish and larger community exist for youth! Teens are presented with these opportunities, but are welcome to find their own opportunities as well. Parents are asked to join us for many of these opportunities.

Sign up is at GIFT sessions or contact the Parish Office

Adult

Relational Ministry Events
Adults (21 and older) are needed to help chaperone many fun activities, such as lock-ins, dances, field trips, movie nights, etc. Volunteers should have the ability to work with youth and enforce simple guidelines and can participate in the events that best suit their talents and schedule. We cannot hold these events without you!

Retreat Small Group Leader
A retreat is held yearly for every grade level. For grades 5-8, these day-long events are held at a site in the community. Help is needed to transport youth and help with the experience of the day (for example, meal programs and nursing home experiences). Retreats for grades 9-10 are one-night overnights, and confirmation and TAG are two-night overnights. Your help with leading a small group of teens requires openness to their ideas and feelings and a willingness to share your faith. The basic requirement for this role is a love and respect for teens.

Contact the Parish Office for more information or to volunteer.
