Your donated non-perishable items along with your monetary support has enabled us to assist those less fortunate. The deteriorating economy means more unemployment and more families needing temporary help with food. The immediate needs are posted at the pantry collection box, the back and side doors and is in the bulletin the weekend before Sharing Weekend.
We have touched many individuals and continue to welcome a monthly average of 40 families. In 2016, we served 509 families, 899 individuals, packed 889 bags of groceries and distributed $3,010 in gift cards.
Remember that you make the pantry work. Get in the habit of purchasing an extra item to bring to Mass each Sunday.
We serve those who reside within the following geographic boundaries:
to the North – Morgan Av. | to the South – Layton Av. | to the West – 72nd St. | and to the East – 51st. St.
The pantry is open every other Tuesday from 3:30 to 4:30 in room 7. Refer to the schedule below.
Sharing Weekend is the first full weekend of the month. It is our opportunity to bring awareness of the food pantry and the importance it plays in the Lourdes community. There are containers for your donations throughout the building.
